Posted by Daniel S. on Thursday, January 5, 2023, In : books and movies

Received notice yesterday that my part in the filming of the K. Simmons Production of the 6-part, made-for-television series FINDING KATE — https://ksmediagroupinc.com/finding-kate — will begin tomorrow WITH A FUNERAL. Go Figure! I’ll be playing myself as the star who played Will Gardner in the K. Simmons Production of the multi-award-winning movie, STATIC — https://ksmediagroupinc.com/the-static-movie. Based on the multi-award-winning book — https://www.amazon.com/dp/0997247215 —...

COMING-OF-AGE

Posted by Daniel S. on Sunday, September 11, 2022, In : books and movies

COMING-OF-AGE is never easy, irrespective of how easily or not it happens. And, the first one, adolescence, is a doozy for everyone. Looking back, I’m impressed with how every approximate decade of my life brought with it another coming-of-age, for me, mostly related to my work, my “job” being to figure out what message my work had for me about…well…me.

My decades were adolescence, college/university life, physician, author, artist, medical computing analyst, corporate official, mi...

TO DREAM, PERCHANCE TO DANCE

Posted by Daniel S. on Wednesday, June 8, 2022, In : dance

YESTERDAY, I received some exciting good news! I’m posting today as Daniel S. Janik, the actor, rather than my usual Raymond Gaynor, author, though we’re one and the same. I’m looking forward to appearing in the upcoming K. Simmons Production, six-part, made-for-television series FINDING KATE. I’ll be appearing in Episode One as myself with a possible short speaking role in a later episode. But what’s particularly exciting for me is that Setsuko Tsuchiya, my performance and competit...

REALLY — When’s the last time you had some fun. Real fun! Wild, unconstrained, giggly FUN and I don’t mean a day without news spent entirely in Meta’s cyberspace. I mean real, human-to-human fun.

Given the pandemic has challenged us to rise to a new style and level of interaction, and that we’ve completely failed to take advantage of the COVID-shot-across-the-bow to update our future infrastructure (or almost any infrastructure at all), instead returning to the state of things that...

AN ISLAND IN THE SUN

Posted by Daniel S. on Friday, April 8, 2022, In : books

IT’S not uncommon to think of the USA as a “continental” nation, an integral part of North America or the Americas in general. It’s not so common to think of it as an island, surrounded in its totality by water, isolated by oceans from EurAsia. Personally, I think of the good ol’ democratic USA as an “island in the sun” among nations. Not a classic Greek democracy; instead, more in terms of a “nation of free traders.” It seems to me that one particular element that’s made ...

AND MORE ADO ABOUT SOMETHING [IMPORTANT]

Posted by Daniel S. on Thursday, September 9, 2021, In : Acting

AS an author and, more recently, publisher of Savant Books and Publications/Aignos Publishing fame (https://www.savantbooksandpublications.com), it’s been my pleasure to introduce to the literary world over 140 compelling books by 60 outstanding authors and poets.

Several years ago, I had the good fortune of meeting Mr. Kendrick Simmons of K. Simmons Productions, a “Hawaii-wood” based producer of cinematic works (https://kspllc.media). What resulted was Savant/Aignos and K. Simmons Pro...
