OTOSOTU POST-PRODUCTION CONTINUES

Posted by Daniel S. on Monday, March 25, 2024, In : books and movies

AS you may well already know, OTOSOTU (pronounced “Oh-Toe-So-Two” for “On The Other Side Of The Universe,” a science futuring film about the human soul) has finished filming and is now in post-production, meaning assembly, editing and polishing, at the moment having just transitioned to editing.

Editing is where the film, now assembled correctly, gets turned into a “real” film. In general, scenes are cropped; sounds are added, mixed and modulated; special effects are added; scene...

OTOSOTU?

Posted by Daniel S. on Wednesday, March 20, 2024, In : books and movies

AH, have you heard about OTOSOTU (pronounced “Oh-Toe-So-Two” for the JET Progress movie “On The Other Side Of The Universe”)? OTOSOTU is unusual right from the beginning, being a sci-fu film about the nature of the human soul. Filming finished in late February, and the work is now in post production, with an anticipated release in late 2024. In the prior post, I described some of what goes on during the mysterious “post-production” period.

As of today, the over 600 scenes, filmed...

OTOSOTU “IN THE CAN”

Posted by Daniel S. on Tuesday, March 12, 2024, In : books and movies

WITH over 250 scenes (800 “takes”), OTOSOTU (pronounced “Oh-Toe-So-Two” for “On The Other Side Of The Universe,” a science futuring film about the nature of the human soul) now “in the can” (ie, finished and digitally recorded in 4K on the SDXC UHS-1 card from our Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ2500 studio camera), we’ve technically finished filming (or production) and are on to post-production.

To most, the typically 12-months of post-production is a mystery. At JET Progress — ht...

THERE’S SOMETHING TO BE SAID FOR DOING IT ALL YOURSELF

Posted by Daniel S. on Saturday, June 17, 2023, In : books and movies

WHAT, I’m not so sure though. Just kidding. I can say from personal experience that doing anything all yourself is more challenging, constructive and instructive. For example, I’ve recently taken up acting, and having starred in STATIC — https://ksmediagroupinc.com/the-static-movie — supported by an outstandingly professional team of cast and crew, movie making seemed amazingly easy. That’s what you get when working with a great team.

More recently, I decided to try my hand at movi...

THE IMMIGRANT’S GRANDSON

Posted by Daniel S. on Wednesday, November 17, 2021, In : books

MOST established American’s are, have or at least well know one. They’re the “success” stories of the United States of America where most everyone gets an opportunity to better their life. To some that means wealth. To others, power. To yet others — the folks I most identify with — the opportunity of living the life for which so many these days are dying.

As a successful author with the usual train of published books and awards, while working on my own next novel, in this case, ...

EDITING THE LIGHT FANTASTIC

Posted by Daniel S. on Wednesday, July 14, 2021, In : books

WONDERING about the first word, “editing,” instead of “tripping?” Well, yes, I am an amateur ballroom and latin DanceSport competitor, but with dance competitions and dancing in general most on hold till COVID runs it’s course, I’ve been working hard with Savant author Vern Turner (https://www.amazon.com/Vernon-Turner/e/B089Y14KZY) to edit his recently accepted manuscript entitled THE IMMIGRANT’S GRANDSON. Personally, I can’t think of a better way to keep up my own authoring s...
