DANCE THE NIGHT AWAY WITH DAN AND SETSUKO

My partner, Setsuko Tsuchiya, and I have agreed to host a monthly dance for International Ballroom Dance Inc (IBDI) at the Hawaii Kai Retirement Community (HKRC - Phase 2 - "Ice Cream Parlor" Room) from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. the first Sunday of every month. Music by Dan Janik. Fully-costumed demonstration dance. Light refreshments served. Free parking. On The Bus line.

DANCE - MORE THAN A LABOR OF LOVE

I have been an avid dancesport enthusiast since as far back as I can remember (though it wasn't called Dancesport back then). My formal dance training began when I first met my life (and social/performance/competition dance) partner, Setsuko Tsuchiya, in the 1990's at a YMCA dance in Berkeley, California. The New "Dark Ages"

I'm often asked where in the great scheme of things educational I think our current American system of education falls.  On the surface it seems like an easy question that begs a simple "rank" answer.  Think about it awhile, however, and both the question and any answer that might result become complexly rank.  As an academician, I value clearity, completeness and conciseness, in that order, so, I have decided to take on this "simple" question as the topic of today's entry.
